Ara Institute of Technology Courses

Ara Institute of Technology

Ara offers a wide range of courses which may be more suited to certain students than a university

Course. Traditionally classes are much smaller and there is a different style of learning. Some students

may take a course at Ara and staircase from there to a university course. School students are able to get

a feel for tertiary level study at Ara with hands-on Junior and Senior Tasters. Juniors would probably

best be doing their holiday programme, and seniors in consultation with teachers, could attend during

the school day. The link below will give Information sessions and holiday workshops.

NZ Adventure Internship – April 2018

Pure Exploration are looking for a limited number of students to join them for the Adventure Guide Internship program based in Queenstown commencing April 2018

Participants will embark on a remarkable 12 week journey of learning, experiences and coaching – in the classroom and predominantly in NZ’s diverse and spectacular outdoors, focusing on individual skills and group leadership.

They will gain world-recognised New Zealand outdoor guiding qualifications, and on completion will be placed in some incredible front-line adventure tourism roles based in Queenstown – working for companies involved with jet-boating, climbing, hiking, bungy jumping and much more.

This program is a well-constructed stepping stone into the adventure tourism industry as a guide, but also a good GAP year option – offering qualifications and adventure all in one.
