Students are encouraged to look at the site below and if interested think about applying
attributes of a Tuckwell Scholar to apply for the Tuckwell Scholarship for 2018.
We are looking for applicants who may not have considered themselves scholarship material; perhaps because they have a genuine modesty that inhibits them from putting themselves forward or because they feel their background might be a barrier to success.
Applications are welcome from students in schools across Australia and New Zealand and we are keen to attract a variety of students from different areas.
Stage 1 applications are now open and close for candidates at 3pm (AEDT) on 27 March 2017. Teacher referees will have until 3pm (AEDT) on 29 March 2017 to complete their reference.
This year, Candidates are asked to identify two referees: their Head of Year (or equivalent – Housemaster), who can provide information about their ATAR or OP prediction, and an Academic Teacher, preferably someone who has taught the candidate throughout Year 12. The Head of Year and the Academic Teacher may be the same person.
As referees are not given access to the online reference form until the candidate has submitted their application, we strongly encourage candidates to approach their teacher referees early in the process, and suggest they direct their referee(s) to the Stage 1 Referee Guidance Notes and Stage 1 Referee Questions.
